Quilts and Amaryllis

Well, Welshcake has been at it hard lately. She has been working on a Vicksburg Civil War Quilt. It was made from fabric she collected on her trip to Pennsylvania in 2008. Tonight she got it back from Lynn, who did the machine quilting.

She also put 2 Amaryllis plants in jars at Christmas time. Meet Slowpoke and Bloomer. It has been fun watching them put so much energy into growing and blooming. Bloomer has 5 blossoms already. Note the top of the jar in the second picture.

Slowpoke took a long time deciding if it was worth the effort to grow, but now is growing about 1/2 inch a day with 3 separate stems. She will be pink.

    Lois- Your quilt is beautiful!! I can't imagine how long it must have taken to complete it...wow...

    Oh my goodness! It turned out so beautiful, Lois! It's huge, too--queen size? I can't wait to see it in person.

    Maybe slowpoke will make his/her debut when we come up?

    I love the quilt! The colors you picked will be perfect in your room, and on your Amish bed...wow! Next you will have to post that picture!
    My heart is with slowpoke. Like Mulan, maybe she will be the prettiest of all!

    Wow! That quilt is so beautiful. You can really tell a lot of love and time went into picking the colors and designing it. Even the borders are amazing. Great job!
